OCHNSER GMLW 9 Plus air source heat pump

Project Details

This steading conversion was completed to a very high standard. The client did not want to put in a ground source heat pump but at the same time was concerned with the reputation some air source heat pump installs have. As such we suggested the OCHSNER GMLW 9 Plus heat pump.

The GMLW range uses a unique horizontal evaporator rather than the traditional vertical evaporator normally associated with air source heat pump installs. The larger surface area of the evaporator allows it to extract energy from the air more efficiently and for longer before needing to defrost. This arrangement also allows the evaporator to defrost completely as the condensate falls directly to the ground rather than through a condensate drain. The overall performance of the GMLW approaches that of a ground source heat pump.

Barres underfloor heating was installed throughout the property. The install was eligible for the Domestic Renewable Heating Incentive which the client successfully claimed.
